Add For Sale Listing Add Wanted Listing
Does it cost to register?
No- the registration process is fee free.
Does Mifarm become involved in making a sale happen?
No, it stays impartial at all times.
Why does mifarm request a NGR number?
mi farm wants to streamline for buyers the contact and business details of sellers to make the accounting of of a grain sale so much easier. Note: The NGR number is what it is- just a number- any details that are behind that number are secure and only available to those buyers that have user agreement with NGR (National Grower Registry).
In the event of a grain sale being made, does mifarm offer any insurance if payment is not made/goes awry?
No, not at this stage.

Coming Soon... Silo Feature

What is the mifarm "Silo Feature"?
Mifarm believes that offering different sized parcels of the same type of grain and classification into the one "Silo" listing, therefore creating a larger tonnage parcel, is more attractive to the larger buyers and has a lot of merit. This way the sellers in a particular "Silo" will have a premium price applied to the grain that they are in agreeance to (i.e. they choose the Silo they want to be in) and the buyers can view the Silo listings and know the tonnages of grain on offer and the price that the grain is for sale at.
Is the price (per M/T) in the "Silo Feature" open to negotiation if a buyer comes along and wants to buy?
No. The idea of the feature is that the tonnage of the individual seller, and therefore the continued tonnage of the actual "Silo" feature is true and correct and is on the market. The seller agrees that the "Silo" price is the actual selling price and the buyer agrees that the price is the actual buying price.
Can the seller withdraw his grain out of the Silo feature at anytime?
Yes, but due to the impact on other members of the Silo*, there are some limitations. If a seller chooses to withdraw their grain from the Silo before 5pm on a business day, their grain will not be officially removed until 9am the following morning. Any sales that occur between the request to remove grain from the silo and it's official removal will need to be negotiated with this in mind.

* Other members of the Silo are affected by the overall volume of the silo (which has an impact on it's attractiveness to large buyers), particularly because one members' removal of their grain could drop the total volume below the minimum threshold for silo volume, causing the entire silo to be removed from sale (and the individual listings re-instated).
Will the "Silo" feature add value to my grain?
Yes- that is the aim of the feature- to get better value by offering it in larger tonnages.
Does the "Silo" feature have a minimum input tonnage?
No, any seller can add any volume of grain to a Silo. However, a Silo has a minimum sale threshold of 500 M/T, which means that if the total volume of a Silo is under that threshold, it will not be available for sale, and individual listings that make up the Silo will remain active on the site. Once a seller joins the silo that pushes it's total volume over 500 M/T, all individual listings are removed from sale, and the Silo is activated for sale on the website.
Does the "Silo" feature have a maximum input tonnage?
No, our silos will never overflow.
